Godspeed Rocky...

So I decided to take a few days to reflect on the events that took place last saturday... December 9, 2006. The day, that will go down as the hardest day of my life, so far. The never ending circle that we call life, came to a physical end for my dog, Rocky. He was the first dog that I owned, a pitbull, a gentleman through and through, a protector and overall a lot of lessons learned for me! He taught me about responsibility, unconditional love, and most of all, that we are mortal. We do not have an infinite trip on this physical plane we exist. We will pass. We will move on. This was my first experience with death so close to me. I've never lost anyone but a childhood friend (rest in peace Martin), a best friend's mother and a great-great-aunt. Noone else. Never. Noone THIS close to ME.

The coolest part of the story, is that I am about to get another tattoo, most likely a tribute to Rocky, in some sort of way, probably a picture of his head, and his name in some Compton style gangster letters (Cause you know, I'm soo gangster.) But the cool part of it will be that his ashes will be made part of it! Yes... a great friend of mine, and tattooist extraordinaire will be mixing some of his ashes into the ink (after we sterilize them in some alchohol) and therefore I will have Rocky with me until I leave this physical plane. I've never heard of this before, and I thought it would be a great way to carry him with me, even if it's a very small part of him and only ashes, it will still have much meaning to me, and that's just about all that matters :)

Here is the last picture that we took together just about 30 minutes before we put him to rest for his final nap... Sad day it was, but I now understand what people say when they say they can feel their loved ones around them at all times... I truly do. Rocky is with me... I know this.
