Martin Socrates Kane - June 24th 1973 - April 15th 1989

today is a great day... today is the 35 anniversary of the birth of one of the world's souls that never made it far enough in his human form...

martin was an amazing fella, he was witty and intelligent beyond his years... he had an amazing way about him that was purely magnetic... his penchant for making people smile was uncanny... and most of all he was a good human... a truly good person... he loved the hoyas, baseball and what we all did most of the time... SKATEBOARDING :) dude never got to see the 1990's, never got to see so much, but in his short life, he saw a lot and touched a LOT of us... miss ya man.

so i take off on my scooter this morning, and i decide to take a new route, one that would take me through the side streets of salisbury and with that, it took me by the graveyard that saw my first friend... this graveyard is very near another good friends old house, the old graveyard that backed up to our first LUON halfpipe way back in the day, and home to the rope swing that swung over johnsons lake... well anyway, i stopped in to see Martin and about halfway up the lane i realized that it was in fact his birthday... kinda odd how i ended up there on that route, and then finally deciding to go up to his grave... all on his bday... anyway, i wanted martin to be googled and this is the first time ive had the chance to make that happen... so here you go marty!

so with this post, i wanted to attach a passage from a book that i am reading right now, "No Death, No Fear" by Thich Nhat Hanh and it goes like this:

"Our true nature is the nature of no birth and no death. We do not have to go anywhere in order to touch our true nature. The wave does not have to look for water because she is water. We do not have to look for God, we do not have to look for our ultimate dimension or nirvana, because we are nirvana, we are God"

Very nice Tony :-)
