Smells like Football (NFL is finally almost here!!)

how cool... it's my favorite tv to program and code and design website's to... NFL Football... and tonight's pre-season "Hall of Fame Game" and that mean's it's almost time for Nerdfootball.com And that means also, that it's almost time for the Oakland Raiders (my team) to play the San Diego Supercharger's at the Coliseum in Oakland on the very first Monday Night Football game of the year.

nerdfootball.com is a really fun football pool that i built many moons ago, and in our now 8th year of running we have one of the largest pools yet! it's a pick and confidence type pool, where you assign a "Confidence Factor" to each game, and for each game you get right, you get those points. points range from 1-16 (if there are 16 games that week) and you better pick wisely, because every point matters! Oh and of course there is a "Smack Down" area where you can let your opponents know just how you feel!

there is also a suicide pool on the site, where you can run each type of Nerdfootball pool on your own, and it's all self manageable!

if you'd like to setup a pool for this season, we are open for business and would love to host your pool. each pool can be purchased with a credit card, through paypal, and we are real honest nerds, who just love football and website geek stuff :)

the cost is very reasonable, and negotiable. in addition to the football pool website, we also have Nerdbasketball.com that enables you to run and be a part of the coolest NCAA MARCH MADNESS BASKETBALL POOL! It's built using Adobe Flex and is possibly, the coolest RIA Basketball pool on the planet!

We are "The House of the Nerd" and we welcome you to a time tested tradition of football pool and basketball pool fun!

Below is an image and if you click on it, you will see the larger version of it, which gives you an idea of the interface for picking games.

SportsAlert.Net - sports updates on your cellphone

A friend of mine has designed one of the coolest website services that you can find.

It's called SportsAlert.Net. SportsAlert.Net gives you the ability to receive updates of sport's scores AS THEY HAPPEN! No more missing the scores of the big games, while you are out playing golf... out on your boat, or wherever there is no TV. Sports Alert takes care of this for you. Imagine being able to go out to dinner with the in-laws and having the ability to get the scores sent to you automatically!

Here are the choices:

1. NFL
2. NCAA Basketball
3. NBA
4. NHL
5. MLB
6. NCAA Football

The basic service is free, and there are small charges if you would like the updated service. I'm telling you, there is no better way to stay in touch with the games you cannot see, than SportsAlert.net

Michael Irvin - do you believe him?

So, "The Playmaker", a veritable Hero for many was caught Friday with a crack pipe under his seat. During a routine traffic stop for speeding the officer found the pipe under his seat.

With his history of drug abuse it's very hard to believe him.

So, I'm listening to the Dan Patrick show on EspnRadio on XM Radio 140, and he is talking right now. He doesn't sound very believable. He sounds somber, he sounds resolute, but he doesn't sound like he is telling the WHOLE truth. When Dan asked him if he would take a drug test, he stammered more than I would have like to have heard and did his best spin job of getting around it. So, we will see.

I hope I am wrong, I hope it's not his. I really like him on ESPN, and I just hope he is telling us the truth.

My first Oakland Raiders football game.

So, I have a lot to post about this, but I at least wanted to get it started :) I went to the Raiders vs. Redskins game on Sunday the 20th, and the Raiders won! It was my first game, we had "Dream Seats" and last night I was even on Sportscenter's Monday Night NFL Preview show, during Michael Irvin's "Playmaker's" spot. I may have only been a black object in a sea of maroon, but at least I was on there!

What a game, I'll post more, pics and everything later on.

:) still in shock

Randy Moss: Model Citizen

As I predicted some time ago... Randy Moss is REALLY behaving himself, is making a true effort to be a good Raider.

Im excited. Im looking forward to our newly charged offense... and man i cant wait for #18 to make a good impact on my team.

From espn.com's John Clayton
Moss' presence has team, offense optimistic

"He practices hard. He works hard. He wows his Raiders teammates with his incredible pass-catching skills. His focus is football and nothing else. After practices, Moss blocks out the outside world. He leaves the locker room and weight room at Raiders training camp wearing huge headsets as he listens to music. Without saying much, he'll sign a few autographs for Raiders fans and head to his room. No individual interviews. No controversies."

Randy Moss - Officially a Raider

Well... its a GREAT DAY in Raider Nation.

It happened, officially i think, on Wednesday. One of the most prolific receievers in the NFL has signed with my boys, the Oakland Raiders.

John Clayton from ESPN agrees along with everyone else that i know, who are Raider fans... this is a VERY good thing.

Randy Moss - he was born a Raider...

and soon he will come home.

as a faithful member of Raider Nation, i'd like to take this moment, to formally welcome Randy Moss to our family.

according reports on ESPN, by Chris Mortensen, Randy Moss will be a raider, within the next 10 days. i dont want to get TOO excited yet, as i dont want to gaunt us.
