Smells like Football (NFL is finally almost here!!)

how cool... it's my favorite tv to program and code and design website's to... NFL Football... and tonight's pre-season "Hall of Fame Game" and that mean's it's almost time for Nerdfootball.com And that means also, that it's almost time for the Oakland Raiders (my team) to play the San Diego Supercharger's at the Coliseum in Oakland on the very first Monday Night Football game of the year.

nerdfootball.com is a really fun football pool that i built many moons ago, and in our now 8th year of running we have one of the largest pools yet! it's a pick and confidence type pool, where you assign a "Confidence Factor" to each game, and for each game you get right, you get those points. points range from 1-16 (if there are 16 games that week) and you better pick wisely, because every point matters! Oh and of course there is a "Smack Down" area where you can let your opponents know just how you feel!

there is also a suicide pool on the site, where you can run each type of Nerdfootball pool on your own, and it's all self manageable!

if you'd like to setup a pool for this season, we are open for business and would love to host your pool. each pool can be purchased with a credit card, through paypal, and we are real honest nerds, who just love football and website geek stuff :)

the cost is very reasonable, and negotiable. in addition to the football pool website, we also have Nerdbasketball.com that enables you to run and be a part of the coolest NCAA MARCH MADNESS BASKETBALL POOL! It's built using Adobe Flex and is possibly, the coolest RIA Basketball pool on the planet!

We are "The House of the Nerd" and we welcome you to a time tested tradition of football pool and basketball pool fun!

Below is an image and if you click on it, you will see the larger version of it, which gives you an idea of the interface for picking games.

brett favre is not retiring!

mark my words. i just have a feeling. if the right team approached him
i firmly believe that he would pick up and play! the little smirk he
gave when asked why his conviction now, should be viewed any different
than before. and that my friends, is an EASY tell. easy.
oh, and if the raiders pickup michael vick, then i will forego my raider
fanhood until he retires.

when i saw this picture, i knew he wasnt happy about being in new york
as a jet, you could just see it in his eyes. he may have a poker face
on the football field, but not in real life... not at all!

Crabtree leaving Texas Tech

now its time for my raiders to grab him up in the 7th pick. the top rated receiver has decided to drop out of college to enter the 2009 draft.

for more on the story... go here.

Must be football time (NFL) that is...

'cause thats all i feel like blogging about ... this times its great news for the raiders... we picked up a guy who i compare to bruschi, ray lewis even ed reid and many other fine linebackers... thats adam archuleta... we snatched him up the other day after he had been talking to the titans...

here's the full story, but wow, what a great acquisition for the men in black!

thanks for the news professor!

Kornheiser, Tirico and Theismann on Monday night football

This just announced on ESPN RADIO...

What a GREAT lineup for monday night football on Espn, starting next year, 2006. GREAT stuff. Tony K in, Al Michael's out... Tirico calls a game like no other, Kornheiser lays down the comedy and wildcard effort and Theismann for the actual football experience.

These three along with Suzy Kolber and Michelle Tafoya on the sidelines should be a GREAT time for us watching!

Congratulations Pittsburgh Steelers

And congratulations Jerome Bettis on one incredible career. Football is a team sport, but you made your team better, with you as its leader. Well done!

I hate "I told you so's" but, I told everyone. The Steelers would win, they would lock it in, and then they would seal it up with a solid running game.

Hines Ward. Wow. You are the man. Antwaan, nice pass. Big Ben... second AFC Championship game, 1st win. 1st Superbowl, and 1st win. In your second year as a professional football player, you pull all this off. Son, ya done good.

What a year, I cannot wait for next, and GO RAIDERS!

SportsAlert.Net - sports updates on your cellphone

A friend of mine has designed one of the coolest website services that you can find.

It's called SportsAlert.Net. SportsAlert.Net gives you the ability to receive updates of sport's scores AS THEY HAPPEN! No more missing the scores of the big games, while you are out playing golf... out on your boat, or wherever there is no TV. Sports Alert takes care of this for you. Imagine being able to go out to dinner with the in-laws and having the ability to get the scores sent to you automatically!

Here are the choices:

1. NFL
2. NCAA Basketball
3. NBA
4. NHL
5. MLB
6. NCAA Football

The basic service is free, and there are small charges if you would like the updated service. I'm telling you, there is no better way to stay in touch with the games you cannot see, than SportsAlert.net

Congratulations Colts 11 - 0

I have to give it up to Peyton Manning and the entire Colts staff, team, whatever.

They made a VERY large statement tonight with their win versus Pittsburgh, and I am not sure, but I do not see too many stumbling blocks on their way into the Super Bowl, and eventually history. 18 - 0 has never been done. Never. In 1972 the Dolphins went the distance but did not close the deal in the Super Bowl. History is unfolding before our eyes.

Ok, enough of that. The Raiders really need to get their act together, but I still love them :)

winter X games 9

shaun white didnt really impress too much.

danny kass, is ridiculous. finch is off the hook.

and Fin. Anti Autti, WOW, that boy can really get some ups.

watched the x games big monday performance, last night, it was freakin' awesome.

four days until super bowl, i still like the pats, its still 7 points, and im not sure i like that number.

what a weekend.

pats win.

they are solid. the most solid team in the nfl.

eagles beat michael vick, not even close, vick has GOT to learn how to throw the long ball... maybe Randy Moss?

anyway, i pick the pats. 24-10.

winners all day long.
