LOST - the answers you have been waiting for!

In 1973 the Hanso Foundation bought the island and used it as a test site for research involving predicting the future and accelerated learning.

The foundation's ultimate intention was to rediscover ancient techniques which could be used to bring about world peace.

Flight 815 crashed as it became caught in a temporal vortex generated by Dharma time travel experiments. The survivors of flight 815 are all part of a sophisticated psychological experiment and the so-called 'monster' is in fact projected telekinetic energy controlled by a group of scientists hidden on the island.

There are two groups of Others. One group are the results of a human cloning experiment and the other are survivors of a ship wreck which occured several years ago.

The 'incident' mentioned in the orientation film refers to an almost-successful attempt to hack into Dharma's central computer and the pressing of the hatch button is merely a method that the Hanso Foundation use to determine that there are still people alive on the island.

Bernard is an android and the numbers represent a physical constant which is central to the physics of time travel.

so... did I get you? If so, spoof some of your friends with this truly cool and unique LOST Theory Generator!

What a night of GREAT TV

 1. American Idol - I picked Taylor from the moment of his audition.

2. The NBA Western Conference Finals - Game 1 - I picked Phoenix to win GETTING 6.5 pts., and the game to go over 220. WINNER, WINNER!

3. The Yankees vs. the Red Sox at Fenway - somehow the Yankees won this one... anyway, great game, lots of offense...

4. The LOST Finale - HOLY SHIT! what an episode. did i notice a Hanso Foundation ad for a job? I think I did. http://www.hansocareers.com got check it out... and better yet... its sponsored by Monster.com!

The episode was crazily intense:

1. There is mad backstory on Desmond, and Kelvin (he is the bearded Others leader, i think!)

2. Somehow his wife is involved with the detection of an EMP (Electromagnetic Pulse) type thing... basically, its the emission of mad amount of pent up Electromagnetic Energy and is capable of making the entire area WHITE, bright white. It almost makes a sound when it happens.

3. Desmond learns, while poring through pages upon pages of greenbar paper, that HE in fact made the plane come out of the sky... when he chased Kelvin to the Rocks near the waterside, and he was unable to make it back to the station to reset the code. This island emits that amazing EMP, and is able to make planes crash... Eko's brothers plane, etc... I bet the black dust is related to the emission every so often.

4. Michael sells Kate, Jack and Sawyer out to the others in return for his son Michael. They take a boat, on a 352° heading. not sure where this goes, but I'm sure we'll learn.

5. Claire kissed Charlie!!!!!!!! nice. Way to go my hobbit friend!

6. There are some dudes on an island in Antarctica, that notice the EMP, and report it to Desmond's old lady. Great! another twisted story line waiting to happen.

7. Sayid goes to the others camp is sure to find NO ONE there. The door that was there into the mountainside... is FAKE, it leads nowhere. I think they use this as a decoy or something.

8. While Sayid is doing this, Jack and Kate and Sawyer, and Hurley all get darted, and hooded, and taken to the end of a dock... the sign on the dock read "Pala" something. I'm not sure exactly.

9. One giant foot. Four toes, not five. VERY Large foot from a statue of some sort. The Korean's are with Sayid on the boat, when they see this... Another storyline!

10. At the end, they are re-hooded, Mike is left with his son, and a boat on the heading of 352°, somewhere... Another storyline.

anyway, GREAT show, and I cannot wait for next season!

DI 9FFTR731 - Lost review

So tonight's Lost was another HOLY SHIT Lost episode if you ask me. The backstory was about Rose and her husband (for some reason I can't remeber his name right now) and how they met, why they were in Australia, and a nice little relation to Locke. Rose drops her pill bottle on the floor in the airport terminal and a wheelchair bound Locke picks it up and hands it to her. Later on in the episode there is a moment that Rose and Locke share where she reminds him that anything is possible with this island, and that they both KNOW what she is talking about... it was a nice moment of clarity for him, you could see it.

Early in the episode Rose and her hubby are straightening up their inventory of food and the camera focuses on the labels, and everytime it focuses on the alphanumeric string "DI9FFTR731" Who knows what it REALLY means, but you have to imagine that "DI" in the beginning stands for "Dharma Initiative" I'd love to know what the rest means. Ideas anyone?

We learned that Rose had/has Cancer, was in remission and as soon as she got to Lost island, she "Lost" her affliction.
Come to think of it, many of the residents have Lost something... Something I hadn't thought about before, but an interesting line of thought nontheless. Charlie lost his heroine addiction, Mr. Eco lost his brother (and has subsequently found God/the calling to the cloth), Locke lost his leg problem and can now walk and I'm sure more will come about.

Meanwhile Locke struggles to write down the map he saw on the blast door, Jack decides to go find "The Others" he takes Kate along, and leaves behind Sawyer. Rose and her husband come to grips with the fact that the faith healer did not "FIX" her, but in turn "FIXED" him into thinking she was better. And Michael shows up torn and tattered having found "The Others" camp. We learn that he now vows to take some people back to "The Others" camp with him to take them on, because as he sees it... they are soft, and can be taken on!

All in all a GREAT episode this week, and I tell you I cannot wait for next week!

Edit #1 Tonight I found a site with some interesting ideas and clues to what the string might mean...

Thanks to a friend on the ColdFusion Community talk list a graphic was found of the completely deciphered blast door map from last night's lost expisode (2x17).

Wild looking stuff... not sure what it all means, but I'm sure there is a lot of great meaning behind it all.

Here is a link to the image.

so... what is all that scribbling and scrawling, and crudely drawn images of what looks like a detailed map of the island. you can see that the spot they are in is the "I AM HERE" location.

without any image enhancement i can READ on of the scribble quotes, and it goes like this:

Possible CVII-Inactive since accident.

Looks like there is a CVI, CVII, CVIII and CVIV. not sure what they are or any other text's, but im going to see if i can enhance this... the text you can read is below the CVII above the U in the "cubit" part of the graphic. Funny that CVIII = 108 in roman numerals. no way thats a coincidence is there?

So we know there as some sort of accident. Not sure what... but something. The question mark appears to be above the center of the place locke and gale were/are in now... and what seemed to be a giant magnet.

[Update 1] 10:56 pm. Ceiling image graphic is available ALREADY!
Raymond Camden, another Lost loyalist has a blog and a Lost Discussion Forum, and describes the episode as well. He also found a link to the image of the ceiling. FAST. Good job ray. Ceiling Image link

its now time for more john locke backstory

some odd sounds inside the hatch.

locke is alarmed... henry gale in the jail cell that he is in looks generally shookup, which i think is important... if he was a "other" he should/would know what the sound was... right?

i seem to think the others are other than the people who are the dharma initiative people... does that make sense?

<more>

locke is shown at someones funeral, there are some weird sketchy characters in the background, i guess i don't know who/what they are? they don't seem random, are

the hatch doors have just shut... gale and locke, are well... locke'd in :) bad pun bad pun.

gale and locke are starting to stress.
you can see locke in a workman's suit, walking, doing house inspections. all the while, locke's dad is watching him and they talk at a bar, locke accuses his dad of stealing his kidney, who the hell cares about this kinda backstory. and just as i say this... his dad has let him know that he stole 700k from two people's retirement money. his dad wants him to go get the money. and keep 200k of it. locke contemplates.

back in the hatch, locke tells gale that they are locked in... gale seems oddly suprised. gale offers locke help. gale wants locke to guarantee protection. locke lets him out. wow. gale again claims that he is himself, an island castaway... just by a different means. why does he look sooo unbelievable? great casting if ya asked me.

all the while sawyer, jack, kate and hurley are playing cards on the beach. jack is a bit of an ace in the hole... beats sawyer at his own game... like always... he always beats him, at most everything.

locke got a sword under the door that came down, now they have pried it up, and some alarms were going off... they put something under it... and now they have stopped... locke was trying to get under the door, and now its down on top of him basically crushing his legs at his femur. MAJOR GASH in his leg. the man who couldnt walk, his legs are screwed, AGAIN!

more locke backstory. the two characters from (his father's) funeral. i guess they know about the money, and are about to confront the shit out of him. and in his bag was no money. he never went and got the money. so, was it a staged funeral? maybe so.

now locke is giving gale instructions on how to type the combination into the computer. 4 8 15 16 23 42, press execute. now gale falls in the pantry, is knocked out, locke is trapped under the door, and the blips of the timer have started to sound. WOW, we might finally see what REALLY happens when the code is NOT entered.

jack SMOKES sawyer in hold'em, henry is moving, but is hurt. jack is on his way to the hatch, gales is in the air duct, crawling... creeping, will he make it?? holy shit. BIG SIREN goes off now... perfect time for Gale to not be good, and let it go... what will the writers do this time?

locke backstory again, at the flightline motel, near an airport DUH!... pop's is there, waiting on the bag. locke has the cash, dad is happier than a pig in shit... locked doesn't want the offer, locke's fiancee to be catches them both in a lie... helen is her name. locke asks her to marry him, and she says no and drives off...

the alarm stops the whirring sound goes off again, backup power is on now, lights are black lights, and on the ceiling is a flourescent map of the island... 8 points, in the design, a question mark in the middle... and thats it... the doors raise up, and all is well. HOLY SHIT!

henry gale comes back to help locke, and locke is in major pain. wow, that map musta laid out the positions of the dharma stations.

jack and kate find the parachute, seconds later, sayid and charlie show up, and inside the parachute are dharma initiative MRE looking things... Sayid looks back at Jack like a crazed man. gale says that the only thing he did was enter the number, and the doors came back up... i dont believe him, not one bit. in the grave the gale said was his wifes... sayid and kate and charlie found a man, buried, by the name of "henry gale"

so, our Henry Gale is a fake. we all knew it.
</more>

 *** LOST SPOILER WARNING ***

what an episode... danielle finds someone (at this point, not sure if he is an "Other" or not), She shoot's him with a Crossbow that she has buried somewhere... odd. Sayid takes him back, Jack operates on his injury, Sayid interrogates the man, locke attempts to get the numbers in, TIME RUNS out, holy shit, some black and red iconically decorated panels show up, there are some loud, heavy, mechanical sounds...

not all of the panels line up and Locke finally gets the combination in right. Wow. what an episode. The final segment is about to play, the commercial break is almost up!!!

Wow.

Sayid is let go by the american military men after he has given them the information they needed about the pilot.

And next week there is another hatch found!!!! Holy shit this is getting good. Another good week of Lost, and we were DEFINITELY not let down.

Most of my Thursday nights are spent, for a little while at least, researching the internet community's take on the show "Lost." After poking around some blog postings, and other speculation sites, I came upon the Wikipedia Entry for "The Dharma Initiative."

I highly recommend you read this site if you are at all interested in the show. It's features great rundowns on all characters, and plots and theme-lines, things mentioned by the producers, and a chronology of a lot of events.
